What is BIM?

Building Information Modelling, or BIM, is the process of generating and managing intelligent information about a building throughout its’ lifecycle.

BIM Benefits

Done correctly, BIM ensures that users benefit from:

  • A smoother design cycle with reduced risk for material and on-site problems
  • An integrated supply chain throughout the construction phases
  • Better documentation and analysis for sustainable design and building alternatives, usually before construction has even begun
  • Value at every stage of the construction process, from initial conception through to project completion
  • Intelligent building data, which can be used to manage the building and facilities

Cadnet

At Cadnet we are experienced in producing accurate BIM Models working with Autodesk Revit and CAD Software. We have helped clients analyse design concepts, produce efficient and accurate plans, improve project coordination and manage and optimise building systems.

Autodesk Resources

In the USA, Autodesk has been promoting the benefits of Building Information Modelling for some time.

Autodesk’s informative videos and white papers offer insight into how BIM adds value for AEC professionals at every stage of a project. Have a look at the AutoDesk Building Information Modelling pages.
