The Journey Towards BIM Level 2 Compliance – GovToday BIM Conference Master Class

Cadnet’s MD Colin Williams will be presenting “The Journey Towards BIM Level 2 Compliance” Master Class at the GovToday BIM Conference on 16th June 2015 in London.

Getting Yourself Ready for the Government’s 2016 Mandate
Colin’s Master Class will take visitors on a practical journey from a cold start to achieving Level 2 BIM compliance, in line with the Government’s 2016 mandate.

How a BIM Strategy Can Reduce FM Costs
With over 10 years’ practical BIM experience, Colin will give delegates a clear understanding of the strategic steps needed to create and implement a valuable BIM information strategy. Focusing on the importance of ensuring building information is correctly captured and maintained so that it can be reused, not recreated, Colin will demonstrate how this will reduce construction and operating costs regardless of an estate’s size and complexity.

How The BIM Journey Works In Practice
Using practical examples from recent projects including working with both a UK University and a NHS Trust on their BIM Journey, Colin will share the highs and the lows, the do’s and the don’ts. Delegates will gain an understanding of how they move from identifying the need for change through to an outcome where BIM becomes `business as usual`.

Colin explains the value of his Master Class saying “There is a lot of confusion in the market place about what BIM Level 2 means in practical terms and what benefits a well-structured information management system can bring to FM departments. The BIM Conference and “The Journey Towards BIM Level 2 Compliance” Master Class will give delegates guidance on current thinking and examples of what good looks like and what can be achieved with an information management system based on best practice.”
